Tanau is the residential area of Baqueira Beret known as Level 1700. It sits on the hillside above the main village of Baqueira 1500, with direct access to the Jorge Jordana chairlift. It is the quietest zone of the resort: developments surrounded by meadows and forests, away from the bustle of central Baqueira.

Compared to Baqueira 1500 (more shops, more atmosphere, more noise), Tanau offers calm and space. Compared to Val de Ruda (newer apartments, its own gondola), Tanau offers lower prices and a greener setting.

Piste access and parking in Tanau

The Jorge Jordana chairlift departs from Tanau and connects to the full Baqueira Beret ski area (170 km of slopes, 116 runs, 36 lifts). From the apartments you can ski down to the chairlift without driving.

Parking in Tanau is limited. Some apartments include a private parking space. In peak season it is best to arrive early or leave the car parked for the entire stay.

Tanau in summer

Outside ski season, Tanau transforms into a landscape of meadows and forests. Hiking trails towards the Tuc de Beret, mountain biking and horse riding. The views from Tanau across the valley are among the most open in the entire resort.

What is near Tanau

Tanau has no shops or restaurants of its own. Services are in Baqueira 1500 (less than 2 km away): ski schools, shops, restaurants, supermarket and pharmacy. The accommodation in Pletas is also nearby, with chalets and detached houses for those looking for more space and privacy.

12 km away, Vielha offers the most complete range of services in the valley. 5 km away, Salardú has a main square, restaurants and village life.

How to get to Tanau

Tanau is on the road climbing from Baqueira 1500 towards Level 1700, 12 km from Vielha and 5 km from Salardú. Access via the N-230 and the Vielha tunnel. Distances: Barcelona 281 km (3 h 30 min), Toulouse 278 km (3 h), Zaragoza 264 km (3 h).
