What is the Ecomusèu Çò de Joanchiquet?

The Ecomusèu Çò de Joanchiquet was founded in 1996 as a museum, as it was previously a residential house belonging to owners such as Joan Aunòs, a well-off farmer.

The museum is housed in a traditional 18th-century Aranese house, which has been restored and adapted to show how people lived in the region in everyday life at that time. Visitors can walk through the different rooms of the house, such as the kitchen, dining room, bedroom, and courtyard.

Exhibitions

Inside the museum, you will find several permanent and temporary exhibitions showcasing the history and culture of the region. Among them are exhibitions about transhumance, mountain life, and the history of Vilamòs.
