Data about the Baqueira Beret ski resort

Here we want to provide you with the main facts about this resort and the reason why it is the most important in Spain. The first thing you should know is that it is the resort with the most skiable kilometers in the country. Specifically, it offers 167 km and a surface area of 2,273 hectares.

These are divided into four different sectors:

  • Beret. It has 73.1 km, making it the largest of the four areas.
  • Bonaigua. It offers 38.4 skiable km for winter sports enthusiasts.
  • Baciver. The smallest and least crowded, with just 16 kilometers of slopes.

All this skiable area is divided into 114 slopes organized by color to suit different skill levels:

  • 5 green slopes. The easiest ones, for beginners.
  • 43 blue slopes. For those who enjoy each descent at a relaxed pace, admiring the surroundings.
  • 49 red slopes. Ideal for experienced skiers looking for some challenge.
  • 17 black slopes. Designed for adrenaline lovers, requiring solid experience.
  • 3 itineraries. Together they cover 5 kilometers of routes.

In addition, the resort has a cross-country skiing track suitable for both professionals and beginners. It offers 7 flat kilometers with gentle undulations for enjoying this discipline.

Two altitude levels

This entire area lies between two elevations: 2,610 meters (upper level) and 1,500 meters (lower level), for a total vertical drop of 1,110 meters. The resort also offers additional areas such as a snow park, slalom stadium, freeride zone, and a snow driving circuit.

To access the different areas, you can use its lift system and chairlifts, which are frequently modernized. In total, there are 36 mechanical lifts capable of transporting 62,013 people per hour, divided as follows:

  • 1 gondola lift with 9 seats.
  • 18 chairlifts (12 detachable 5x6, 7x4 and 6 fixed-grip 4x3, 2x2).
  • 10 drag lifts (6 ski lifts, 2 double drag lifts, 2 rope tows).

All these services and skiable kilometers allow the resort to attract nearly one million skiers per season. To ensure a minimum snow cover and skiable terrain, it uses 769 snow cannons, allowing artificial snow production over 58% of the area.

All of this is complemented by a wide range of restaurants located throughout the ski areas. It also offers hotels, apartments, and other accommodations both within the resort and in nearby towns, ideal for après-ski after a great day of skiing.
